In 2000 Andre Camilleri moved from Malta to Australia, where he continues to follow his musical ambitions. Having served his apprenticeship playing the streets of Berlin and Malta’s capital Valletta, wearing his trademark cowboy hat, his world is one of nostalgic reflections, acute and often intimate observations, tales of heartbreak and disaffection, with the occasional dash of youthful optimism.

Expect a rich blend of blues and country flavoured tunes covering a diverse range of material: happy and sad songs, songs about booze, loose women, favourite horses, heartbreak, being on the road, social commentary, more drinking songs, more heartbreak, and a peculiar obsession with trains.

His music is currently receiving air play on RRR, and PBS Radio in Melbourne as well as numerous Internet Radio stations. Andre and his band the Broken Hearts performed two headline shows at the prestigious Melbourne Arts Festival (October 19, 20 2007. Andre is a prolific songwriter. He realises that no one group of musicians can keep up with his many projects, which is why he likes to gather a unique blend of creative minds that he thinks can best translate and elaborate each particular vision.

Since arriving in Melbourne in 2005 Andre has performed and recorded with a number of outfits, namely the 'Broken Hearts', the 'Brand New Companions' his 'So Called Friends' and lately, the 'Southern Star Traveling Music Band'. Andre recorded his first CD 'One Fine Day' with the Broken Hearts.

James Stewart (Overnight Jones, T-Bones) - lead guitar

Mark Di Marzio - mandolin
Elizabeth Taylor - Violin
Paul Thomas - guitar
James Stewart - guitar
Patrick O'Brian - mandolin
